I was worried about a few things this morning. Most days I have a list of concerns that I stress out about. I think about my family, myself, the Church, and a bunch of other stuff. I shouldn’t worry though. God has promised that he would take care of me, and provide for all of my needs. He promises that for you too!
“Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” – Matt 6:26
So what should we do instead of worry?
Prayer is important in the process of providing. God meets our needs, and cares for our concerns in response to prayer. So I must make a decision each day to replace worry with prayer.
In praying for your needs consider Matthew 6:8. Jesus is teaching his disciples about prayer and the importance of praying from the heart. He said,
“…Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.”
That means that God is already aware of what we need! He is more than willing (and able) to help us with all of our problems, and meet all of our needs.
So, next time you start to stress out about something remember that God already has it taken care of. He is just waiting for you to simply trust him, and pray for what you need. Pray like God already knows, because he does!
