Our small group ministry is called Growth Groups
We love Sunday mornings! But we also love and have a passion for home groups and believe them to be an important component of The Bridge.
Why are growth groups important?
Growth groups are vital to the health of The Bridge. We are happy that people join us for Sunday morning service, but, our hope is that those who are able will make time to be a part of growth groups within The Bridge. Growth Groups are where we hope to have the church grow together in their love and service for Jesus, and for each other. It will take time to develop relationships within the groups, but it will be time well spent.
Acts 2:42 they devoted themselves to the apostles teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to the prayers.
Teaching: The ultimate goal of a sermon-based small group is simply to velcro people to the two things they will need most when faced with a need- to- know or need- to- grow situation: the Bible and other Christians.
Fellowship: it’s one of the greatest ways for us as a church to get to know each other.
Food: nothing brings people together like food/dessert
Prayer: this unites us as a church. We are able to labor together, and know that we are not alone in times of struggle, but also we are able to thank God together for the great things he’s doing in our lives.
What they look like:
Fellowship, Food, Prayer, Bible based sermon discussion based on Sundays sermon.
This is a good way for the church to continually be thinking about the Word throughout the week, not just on Sunday.
Small groups or home groups are a big part of what we do at The Bridge. We have groups for everyone in every area of Bellingham and Whatcom county. If you don’t see a group near you then consider hosting a group in your area!
